About the Tampa Area
Heritage Springs is located approximately 30 miles North of Tampa Florida near Florida’s Gulf Coast. Tampa International Airport (TIA) is a quick and easy 30-minute drive away, perfect for visiting friends and family. The International Plaza, adjacent to Tampa International Airport, is the most distinctive shopping and dining destination of Florida's West Coast. Three fashionable department stores, over 200 specialty shops and Bay Street at the Plaza offers an open-air village of fine restaurants and small boutiques. Nearby the Port of Tampa is a departure point for the cruise lines. The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino is only a couple of miles East of downtown Tampa.
The David A. Straz Jr. Center for the Performing Arts in Tampa and Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater offer current Broadway plays and excellent entertainment. Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo and Busch Gardens are a short drive from Heritage Springs. Fred Howard Park with its Gulf beaches and the historic Sponge Docks in Tarpon Springs are only 14 miles away.
Professional sports teams in the area include Tampa Bay Rays baseball in St. Petersburg, Threshers baseball in Clearwater, Tampa Bay Buccaneers Football in Raymond James Stadium and Tampa Lighting Hockey at Amalie Arena. During the months of February and March the area plays host to the New York Yankees, Toronto Blue Jays, and Philadelphia Phillies for their annual Spring Training.
Nearby Clearwater is the home of pristine white sand beaches, clear gulf waters, and warm sunshine. Orlando and its many theme parks are a 90-minute drive away. Historic St. Augustine and the World Golf Hall of Fame are also near Orlando. Travel just a little further east and you can enjoy NASCAR racing in Daytona and the Kennedy Space Center at Cape Canaveral.
